Position Overview

As the mobile equipment mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the plant’s equipment. This role is responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of mobile equipment. The schedule for this position is 4‑10 hour shifts (Mon‑Thurs).

Responsibilities

• Perform regular maintenance on a variety of mobile equipment, including fork trucks, manlifts, emergency generator sets, tuggers, track mobiles, skid steers, and plant trucks.
• Ensure all machinery is operating efficiently and safely.
• Propane engine diagnostics and safety.
• Coordinate with external contractors for service and parts.
• Support the Mechanical Maintenance team as needed.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and compliance regulations ensuring all equipment meets industry standards.
• Quickly diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Keep equipment, machines and working areas clean and orderly.
• Electronically submit daily records of time and materials.
• Maintain records of tools, machine equipment, and inventory as requested.
• Educate and enforce all safety protocols and report hazardous working conditions.
• Perform other miscellaneous jobs as directed.

Requirements

• Interprovincial Red Seal Automotive or Heavy‑Duty mechanic certificate of qualification preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years industrial maintenance experience.
• Electrical diagnostics with multimeter.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• SAP Maintenance Management System experience preferred.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Basic computer skill (Microsoft Office & Outlook).
• This job requires periodic lifting of weights that may exceed 50 pounds and requires a moderate to high degree of physical agility and endurance.
