A leading mining contractor in Ontario is looking for a qualified trainer with extensive mining experience. The role involves planning and conducting training for new employees, ensuring they meet safety standards, and improving workforce skills. Candidates should possess a diploma in mineral extraction, with a minimum of eight years of mining experience and at least two years in training. Plan training needs with supervisory staff
Plan with the trainee miner the sequence of activities and workflow for the shift
Ensure that new employees receive all required training before starting work
Provide employees with all necessary theoretical and practical training
Establish and maintain good communication with the client (if applicable) for training follow-up
Conduct follow-ups as required
Ensure the update and tracking of training matrices
Observe trainees and correct them as needed
Ensure the safety of trainees under your supervision
Follow the established course plan
Complete the training evaluation form for each trainee under your responsibility
Apply and comply with all applicable laws, regulations, procedures, standards, and norms
Report any abnormal conditions that could pose health or safety risks to yourself or others
Perform any other related duties
Hold a diploma in mineral extraction or equivalent
Possess FMTM and/or Common Core mining modules
Have over eight (8) years of mining experience
Have at least two (2) years of experience in training
Possess knowledge of health and safety
