Qualifications

Overview

Maintenance - London | London | Start date: 04/03/2026 | Full Time | Permanent

Dr. Oetker is a state-of-the-art Pizza Production Facility in London, Ontario. With our Head Quarters in Germany, and operations in over 40 countries around the world, we are an international company with deep family roots dating back to 1891. Our London facility which employs about 300 associates showcases modern, highly automated, high volume production lines where we produce Ristorante, Casa di Mama and Giuseppe pizzas under the Dr. Oetker label. In our facility, we start with raw materials such as flour and yeast to make a great pizza crust, topping with sauce and ingredients to make a fantastic, finished pizza and then freezing and packaging the pizzas for retail distribution.

We are hiring for continental shift, working in a multi-faceted production environment, with the opportunity to take ownership of various assignments, tackle different problems, implement solutions and find out more about the food manufacturing industry.

Your Future (Responsibilities)
  • Maintain mechanical/electrical maintenance of the plant infrastructure and process equipment.
  • Build, install, breakdown and maintain equipment as needed.
  • Participate in the development of reliability strategies and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Basic troubleshooting of PLC system for automated custom-built machines.
  • Proactively participate in HACCP food safety system, to identify and control hazards that may occur in the food production process.
  • Consistently follow all Dr. Oetker Health & Safety and Food Safety & Security policies and procedures.
Your Strengths (Qualifications)
  • Interprovincial licensed Millwright (433A)
  • Experience working in the capacity of mechanical maintenance in the food or pharmaceutical industry preferable.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems and able to keep the facility running at optimum levels.
  • You have experience with PLC, robotic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems (preferred Siemens S7).
  • Ability to work according to tight schedules and timelines and have the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Can handle heavy loads (up to 25 KG) and have good hand-eye coordination.
  • Can stand for long periods of time and are able to work with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching and kneeling.
  • You have your own transportation, as public transportation is not available.
  • You will not allowed to wear piercings, jewelry, nail polish, fake eyelashes, fake fingernails etc. in production area.
  • Must be able to touch and work with pork, chicken, beef and dairy products.
  • You are able to work rotating 12 hour shifts on four week cycles.
