Job summary

A financial services provider in Toronto is seeking a Middle-office OTC Derivatives Analyst for a 12+ month contract. The role involves processing and analyzing various derivatives products, ensuring accurate reporting, and assisting junior team members. Ideal candidates have experience in fund accounting and derivatives administration, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. This position is onsite and offers a dynamic work environment.

Qualifications

Job description
Job Title: Middle-office OTC Derivatives Analyst
Location: Toronto, ON (Onsite)
Duration: 12 + Months
Daily Responsibilities:
  • Performs day to day processing and analysis of Alternative products, including a variety of Derivatives products
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of Reporting, and to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of accounting for performance and exposure analysis.
  • Provide assistance to the junior staff when help is needed
  • Performs Accounting functions including control and updating the general ledger, appropriate review, analysis of profit and loss (P&L) and reconciliation break clearance.
  • Monitor net cash flows for the various products.
  • Calculate mark to market (MTM) for all open positions and posting to respective reporting platforms.
  • Ensure compliance to Client’s Trust Agreements and relevant disclosure documents as it relates to service delivery and adherence to industry regulations and guidelines.
  • Performs ad hoc request when directed by the manager
Must have skills:
  • Experience in Fund Accounting, Derivatives Administration, Fund on Funds, Hedge fund, Pension Reporting and/or Equity Funds
  • Able to work independently as well as in a group environment
  • Team player with strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • Computer Skills: MS office, knowledge and experience with Derivatives systems and integration
  • Flexibility to meet scheduled shift work
Nice to have skills:
  • Securities experience
  • Enrolment in CAIA/CGA/CMA/CFA or other recognized accredited program is desirable
  • Working knowledge of GAAP
  • Leadership skills
