Your Opportunity

FMC Psychiatric Adult Service is a sub-acute service providing time limited, goal directed therapy to patients with a variety of mood and anxiety disorders. As the Mental Health Clinician, you will be required to perform the restricted activity of psychosocial intervention utilizing a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment (psychotherapy). Therapists and Psychiatrists work collaboratively, with the main focus of the role including comprehensive assessments, time limited individual therapy and group therapy. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Required Qualifications

Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years working in a direct therapy position within Adult Addiction and Mental Health. Experience facilitating a variety of groups including psychoeducational and skills based. Proficiency with both DBT and CBT with the ability to utilize in therapy with clients. Proficiency with individual therapy, manage a case list, work within tight timeframes, and adhere to policies around total sessions and triggered reviews. Require authorization to perform restricted activities.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with time limited/goal-oriented therapy in an outpatient adult addiction and mental health setting. Demonstrated understanding of all Addiction and Mental Health programs within the Calgary Zone. SFBT and Trauma therapy considered an asset.
