Overview

Join Bayshore HealthCare as a Mental Health Registered Nurse (MH RN) in Esquimalt, British Columbia. This is a part-time, Monday–Friday daytime position with no nights or weekends.

Responsibilities
  • Provide Mental Health services in a primary health care setting, including assessment, nursing diagnosis, and development / implementation of care plans.
  • Deliver crisis intervention and counseling, including life skills programming for clients in the clinic.
  • Provide individual and / or group counseling sessions using CBT, DV T or motivational interviewing techniques.
  • Conduct bio-psychosocial assessments and manage medications from inpatient and outpatient perspectives.
Qualifications
  • All nurses must be Registered Nurses (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPN).
  • For RNs : minimum Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a recognized college or university with either a certificate in Mental Health Nursing or certification in Psychiatric / Mental Health Nursing from the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA).
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the provincial / territorial professional college or association in the province of practice.
  • Certificate of Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider or equivalent (e.g., CPR plus AED). Annual recertification is required.
  • CPR / AED Level C certification.
