About the Company

We are seeking skilled and experienced Medical Laboratory Technologists to join our dynamic laboratory services team on a contract basis in British Columbia. This is a great opportunity to work in a high-demand healthcare environment where your expertise will directly support patient care and clinical decision-making.

About the Role

As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will be responsible for conducting a wide range of diagnostic laboratory tests and procedures across various departments such as hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and transfusion services. The ideal candidate will be accurate, efficient, and committed to maintaining the highest standards in laboratory diagnostics.

Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic laboratory testing in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
  • Analyze samples with accuracy and timeliness, ensuring high-quality results
  • Validate, interpret, and report test results using laboratory information systems
  • Adhere to quality control procedures, infection control practices, and safety standards
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support patient care and clinical outcomes
  • Maintain detailed records, documentation, and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Work rotating shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Qualifications
  • Must be licensed and in good standing with the British Columbia College of Laboratory Science (BCCLS) or eligible for registration with CSMLS
  • Certification in Medical Laboratory Technology
  • Minimum 1–2 years of recent clinical experience in a core lab or specialty area
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in test performance and result reporting
  • Excellent time management, critical thinking, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic medical records (EMR)
Required Skills

Preferred Skills

  • Active or eligible registration with BCCLS or BC regulatory body for laboratory professionals
Pay Range and Compensation
  • Competitive hourly compensation based on experience and credentials
