Medical Laboratory Technician (Andrology)

Guelph, ON • On‑Site • $22–$24/hr

Katig Solutions is hiring a Medical Laboratory Technician (Andrology) on behalf of a leading reproductive health organization in the GTA. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly respected, fast‑growing healthcare team dedicated to delivering advanced fertility and reproductive services.

In this role, you’ll support the Andrology, Phlebotomy, and IVF laboratories by performing essential diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. You’ll play a vital part in patient care—processing specimens, supporting fertility treatments, and upholding the highest standards of laboratory accuracy, safety, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
General Responsibilities
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across clinical and laboratory departments
  • Maintain punctuality for work, meetings, and patient appointments
  • Produce accurate documentation with clear, professional communication
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient and organizational information
  • Follow all policies, protocols, and required training
Role‑Specific Responsibilities
  • Perform semen analysis, sperm cryopreservation, and related andrology procedures
  • Prepare sperm samples for IUI, IVF, and other fertility treatments
  • Explain specimen collection procedures to patients in a calm and friendly manner
  • Label, process, and track specimens with 100% accuracy
  • Freeze and store sperm samples under required conditions
  • Conduct equipment checks, quality control, and routine audits
  • Maintain laboratory cleanliness and assist with equipment upkeep
  • Follow standardized infection control protocols
  • Identify abnormal results and elevate as needed to supervisors or clinical staff
  • Maintain patient results, logs, lab documents, and charts
  • Assist with preparations for accreditation and regulatory inspections
  • Stay current through ongoing training, education, and competency development
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting
  • Experience with semen analysis and sperm cryopreservation
  • Medical Laboratory Technician diploma
  • Current CSMLS or MLPAO certification (mandatory)
  • Training across clinical laboratory areas
  • Strong understanding of regulatory standards and compliance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with laboratory or clinical software systems
