Job description
Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technologist to join our small team in Regina. In this position, you will assist with the design of production drawings and manage the design documentation for the Mechanical Engineering department by gathering documentation required and coordinating and communicating with various internal departments.


Responsibilities


  • Initial Customer Documentation (ICD): Review project folder to ensure all information required is available and accurate

  • Initial Customer Documentation (ICD): Communicate with Sales, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Designers involved throughout the process.

  • Detailed Manufacturing Design (DMD): Assist designers with production drawings; involved in design once learn the process and products.

  • Detailed Manufacturing Design (DMD): Assist Mechanical Engineering (ME) Designers in creating and releasing outputs for other departments (i.e. Sales, Purchasing, Quality Assurance) based on the ME design.

  • Detailed Manufacturing Design (DMD): Create nameplates for production

  • Administration: Create a record for the weekly department meeting minutes and the shop visits.

  • Administration: Prepare weekly Non-Conformance Report (NCR) review for meeting minutes.

  • Administration: Preparation and maintenance of standard department documentation.


Requirements


  • Six months to one year in an office environment is required

  • Knowledge of solid modeling is required

  • Experience with software applications (i.e., AUTOCAD, CREO, SAP, and Microsoft Office Suite) is required

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask is required
