Our Engineering & Design team is looking for a Mechanical Estimator to join their mighty team. In this role you will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely mechanical bids based on project cost and preconstruction requirements.

This is an in-office, full-time, permanent role based in Calgary, AB.

Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare preliminary mechanical designs and pricing for project bids.
  • Maintain and update mechanical price book items and estimating software assemblies to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Assemble and submit complete bid packages to the Sales team, including:
    • Timely submission of bids.
    • Coordination and facilitation of commercial and technical reviews.
    • Collaboration with plant teams to review and validate labour hour estimates.
  • Design HVAC and plumbing systems, including load calculations, system specifications, and pricing based on preliminary layouts.
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor quotations to support accurate cost estimates.
  • Participate in design meetings and project kick-off sessions to align on scope and expectations.
  • Support successful project transitions by preparing and delivering comprehensive handover packages.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
  • Completed a Technical Program in Mechanical Design
  • 4+ years of experience in mechanical design or estimating.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam software is an asset
  • Hands-on construction experience is considered an asset.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Strong aptitude for learning and integrating new technologies with ease.
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude with a competitive drive and a strong commitment to shared goals.
