The Opportunity

Wolf is looking to fill the position of Measurement Technician in our Pipeline Team. Under the general direction of the Supervisor, South Operations, the Measurement Technician is responsible for the measurement portfolio of Wolf Pipeline; ensuring measurement standards and procedures are followed to meet performance expectations and regulatory obligations, and during all the above adhere to Wolf Pipeline’s strong commitment to HSE and ITR (Integrity, Trust, and Respect).

This is a full‑time, permanent position based out of the Sturgeon Terminal, near Redwater Alberta.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clearly demonstrate and drive Wolf’s safety culture
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory measurement requirements
  • Ensure measurement balances are maintained and stewarded
  • Provide technical support in ensuring our QC program performance is maintained
  • Support the development and maintain internal measurement standards and documentation
  • Support the development of new facilities relating to design and commissioning
  • Support the development and maintain annual budgets relating to measurement
  • Maintain measurement records and documentation
  • Complete internal and external regulatory reporting
  • Train and develop staff in the area of measurement
  • Oversee contractor management as it relates to measurement, such as mobile proving, water draws etc.
  • Set up and installvarious measurement devices, including meters, flow computers, transmitters, controllers, and analyzers.
  • Regularly calibratemeters and associated equipment to ensure accuracy
  • Maintain pipeline measurement equipment and systems, such as metering, provers, flow computers, transmitters and other related instrumentation
  • Troubleshoot measurement related issues
  • Witness 3 rd party meter proving and water draws to verify meter accuracy
  • Support the larger operations and maintenance teams for major work and shutdown activities as needed

NOTE: Periodic extended out of town work is expected

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

  • Journeyman Instrumentation Technician or related technical diploma

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years Maintenance experience in the Oil and Gas industry
  • Solid experience in liquids measurement
  • Experience in meter proving activities would be considered an asset.

Skills:

  • Exceptional troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Excellent communications skills and the ability to work with multiple disciplines
  • Ability to work independently or in teams
