Job summary

A prominent coal producer in British Columbia is seeking a Human Resources Co-op student. In this role, you will assist with campus recruitment, organize events, and support health and safety programs. In this role, you will:
  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Support innovative campus attraction programs both virtually and on-campus.
  • Assist with our nationwide Campus Recruitment Program, both virtually and on-campus at post-secondary institutions across Canada (travel may be required).
  • Support EVR’s student-employee engagement and retention strategy involving events/activities and leading student-focused programs.
  • Build relationships and communicate effectively with external organizations and internal business partners.
  • Participate in the full-cycle recruitment process, including interviewing students for co‑op and summer student positions.
  • Manage the onboarding process in SAP
  • Post job opportunities on company website and school job boards to attract qualified applicants.
  • Manage the Student Committee and coordinate student-focused events, including planning, hosting, and execution.
  • Create and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way we do business
Requirements:
  • Currently pursuing an Undergraduate degree in Human Resources
  • A valid Class 5 Driver's License or extra-provincial equivalent, without learner's restrictions is preferred
  • Motivated self-starter; able to prioritize work under pressure and show great attention to detail while maintaining confidentiality and a high level of professionalism
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts to multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access)
  • Experience with HR programs/software would be an asset

Salary is commensurate with the number of academic semesters and prior co‑op experiences completed.
