About the Okanagan Gondola
The Okanagan Gondola neighbors the city of Vernon, BC, and is expected to open in Spring 2027. The project will be a destination experience featuring a sightseeing gondola, trails, restaurants, outdoor experiences, and an adventure park.
Guests can discover an elevated adventure, where breathtaking vistas paired with diverse activities bring guests of all ages together to enjoy the spirit, culture, and beauty of the Okanagan. The experience is rooted in place, offering guests a deep connection to the land, people, flavors and history of the Okanagan.
The Okanagan Gondola is being developed by Ridge North America, a tourism operator and developer headquartered in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, that specializes in a Play, Stay, Live development philosophy. A dynamic and innovative company dedicated to creating unforgettable experiences for our guests and team members, Ridge is building a diverse pipeline of adventure tourism, hospitality, and multi-family projects across growing markets in Western Canada.
Position overview
The Marketing Manager will lead all marketing and communications initiatives for the Okanagan Gondola, from pre-launch through to full operation. This role drives brand strategy, digital performance, and campaign execution for one of the region’s most anticipated tourism attractions, ensuring strong market presence and sustained revenue growth.
The right candidate will be data guided, drive for results, and design beautifully.
You will work closely with our leadership team and agency partners to define brand, craft campaigns, and turn data into strategy. You will also support select Ridge North America destinations, including hotels, adventure tourism, attractions, and future developments, bringing a cohesive and creative marketing approach across our growing portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a strategic marketing plan for pre-launch, launch, and ongoing operations, including special events, programming and individual lines of business. This includes creating detailed project timelines, budgets, and measuring effectiveness through data analysis.
- Manage and allocate marketing budget to maximize ROI and control costs. Track spending, performance outcomes, and provide regular updates on budget utilization and performance.
- Oversee brand management to ensure consistency across all materials, including digital, print, and through partnerships and collaborations.
- Data-driven decision making, planning and executing to KPIs that align to business objectives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally and build relationships with Tourism boards, Agencies, Vendors, Operations, Sales, Food & Beverage, and Retail teams to align marketing initiatives with business objectives.
- Support select Ridge North America properties as needed (resorts, adventure attractions, etc.), ensuring brand consistency and shared best practices.
- Other duties as required to support the overall growth and success of Ridge North America.
Digital & Campaign Management
- Oversee all digital marketing channels including paid media, website, social, and email marketing.
- Manage media buys, digital agencies, and creative partners to deliver efficient and high-performing campaigns.
- Lead content strategy and production — storytelling, photography, video, and social engagement.
- Optimize performance through SEO, analytics, conversion tracking, and ongoing A/B testing.
Brand & Communications
- Develop and manage the annual marketing calendar, promotional campaigns, and partnerships.
- Lead public relations, influencer collaborations, and media outreach in coordination with agency partners.
- Ensure all creative output meets brand standards and enhances the guest journey.
- Oversee the production of marketing collateral, signage, and on-site promotional materials.
Data & Performance
- Leverage analytics to evaluate campaign performance and ROI, identifying insights to refine strategy.
- Maintain accurate reporting dashboards on key metrics such as visitation, ticket sales, and engagement.
- Utilize customer segmentation and database marketing to personalize communication and drive repeat visitation.
- Generate and present regular reports to stakeholders, highlighting key insights, learnings and recommendations for improvement. You should be able to communicate complex data and insights clearly.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Tourism Management or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive marketing experience, preferably in tourism, hospitality, ski resort, or related experience-based industry.
- Proven success developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns.
- Proficiency in digital platforms, analytics tools, and content management systems.
- Experience managing external agencies, media partners, and creative production.
- Exceptional storytelling, writing, and brand-building skills.
- Have an eye for design, ensuring that all content designed and delivered is high quality and on brand.
- Results-driven, analytical, and comfortable balancing creative vision with commercial objectives.
- Strategic thinker with hands-on execution ability — comfortable operating in both planning and doing modes.
- Highly organized, proactive, and an excellent collaborator.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Highly adaptable to changing priorities and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have legal working status in Canada.
Working Conditions
- Hybrid role during construction and pre-launch phase: work-from-home, periodic site visits, and occasional time in our Kelowna office.
- On-site full-time presence required once operational (south of Vernon, BC).
- Some evenings, weekends, and event participation required, particularly around launch and peak seasons.
- Some travel, as required.
