Overview

Nine Circles Community Health Centre is hiring for the Manitoba HIV Program Clinical Education Coordinator. This is a 1.0 EFT (38.75 hours per week) permanent position. Salary: $47,298 to $62,182 depending on qualifications.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Director, Manitoba HIV Program and working with physician leadership, the HIV Clinical Education Coordinator leads clinical education for the Manitoba HIV Program to build healthcare provider capacity and improve access to care for people living with HIV in Manitoba. This includes the development, implementation, coordination and evaluation of all primary care and HIV care education, consultation and training activities province wide. The HIV Clinical Education Coordinator will also develop clinical tools and education activities to support the design fidelity of the Program to Access Treatment for HIV and Support (PATHS), which provides wrap-around care and intensive case management in the community for people living with HIV in Manitoba who are not linked to HIV care or precariously linked to HIV care. The position is full-time term, 77.5 hours per two-week period (including holiday pay hours). The regular work days for this position will fall between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required. The position is classified as MNU Nurse V. A comprehensive benefit package is provided as per employee eligibility via HEB Manitoba.

Required Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate in Nursing from a recognized university.
  • Registered with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba or College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate.
  • Completion of British Columbia Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS HIV Treatment and Management online training course (or obtained within 1 year of employment).
  • Minimum 4 years of nursing experience required.
  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience providing care to people living with mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Experience planning, administering, supervising and evaluating health programs and clinical service.
  • Demonstrated clinical skills in health assessments, physical examination and nursing interventions.
  • Strong foundation of knowledge in the core concepts and practices of Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR).
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities. The provincial health system in Manitoba has adopted the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, facilitation and change management skills.
  • Able to build and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Experience in electronic medical records and working knowledge of medical charting systems and principles.
  • Demonstrated computer competency and experience working with Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Able to effectively manage multiple tasks and inquiries.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Able to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
  • Able to manage inter-personal conflict in a respectful manner.
  • Proof of immunization and testing (rubella, measles, hepatitis B, varicella, tuberculosis, covid-19).
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license and use of a personal vehicle for work related activities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Nursing or related field.
  • Knowledge of cultural safety and experience working with/in Indigenous communities.
  • Experience working in assertive community treatment.
  • Experience in case management, harm reduction and STBBIs.
  • Experience in teaching, education and program development and evaluation.
  • Competency in an Indigenous language.
