Responsibilities

You will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating the operations of the restaurant and reporting to the General Manager. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience managing high volume bakery, café, or other restaurant concepts. You are expected to work alongside team members on the floor at all times to manage the operations and help train all required positions. You will schedule activities, review performance, and coach continually. Monitor inventory and supplies to ensure products meet restaurant needs.

Operational responsibilities
  • Display a guests-first attitude and lead by example.
  • Train and hold the team accountable for delivering excellent guest service.
  • Train and develop team members and motivate the team to achieve targets.
  • Comply with and enforce all Operational, Food Safety and Brand standards.
  • Develop work schedules and assign duties to all team members.
  • Maximize team member coverage and provide floor leadership as needed.
  • Communicate with shifts on day-to-day operations and critical areas of focus.
  • Complete shift documentation and follow sanitation and safety principles.
  • Support and run company-wide incentive programs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legislation (food safety, health and safety, employment standards).
Finance and administration
  • Plan budgets, maximize profits, and achieve sales and transaction targets, including control of costs.
  • Manage daily cash procedures, assist with financial reporting, ordering of supplies, and restaurant maintenance and cleanliness.
  • Perform cash handling, deposits, and payroll timecard verification as needed.
People management
  • Demonstrate Servant Leadership and uphold company values.
  • Evaluate team members, identify training needs, and provide feedback and performance reviews.
  • Recognize individual and team accomplishments and develop high-potential staff for progression.
  • Ensure restaurant policies are followed during shifts (cash, meals/breaks, food safety).
