A school district in North Vancouver seeks a Manager of Sustainability, Energy & Environmental Planning. This role focuses on advancing energy efficiency and sustainability practices, managing a significant building portfolio. Ideal candidates will have a background in engineering and proven experience in energy management, environmental planning, and collaborative project management, ensuring a sustainable learning environment for students.

The core function: The Manager of Sustainability, Energy, and Environmental Planning is responsible for managing and advancing sustainability, energy, and environmental planning activities within the school district. The primary objective is to improve the energy and environmental performance of the district’s 2.1 million square foot building portfolio while providing the best possible learning environments for students. The role facilitates the integration of sustainability into all aspects of NVSD by balancing greenhouse gas emissions, energy efficiency, water consumption, solid waste, indoor environment quality, transportation, and resilience. This is achieved through developing, implementing, and refining NVSD's Sustainability Strategy, Strategic Energy Management Plan, and related behavioural change and environmental stewardship initiatives to foster a culture of sustainability.
