The opportunity

As a professional member of our growing FAAS team, you will have the exciting prospect of bringing our FAAS team’s services to the Financial Services sector, including Banking, Capital Markets, Wealth Management, and Pension funds. We understand the evolving role of the CFO and the Finance function; you will work with clients to achieve better insights and control outcomes, optimize performance and resource use, and guide them through complex accounting, regulatory, disclosure, or transformation initiatives under the CFO’s agenda.

As a member of a vast network of high‑caliber professionals, you will draw upon EY’s technology, tools, and cumulative practical experience to deliver value to clients.

Your key responsibilities

As a FAAS – FSO Manager, you will actively establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships. You will help develop long‑term client relationships, collaborate across EY practices, and provide innovative commercial insights. You will support Finance leaders by addressing challenges across all areas of the finance function, including financial or regulatory reporting, disclosures, regulatory capital, and performance improvement. Some of your time will involve local business development and client engagement activities across the FSO sector.

Client responsibilities
  • Lead external client consulting engagements that advance the CFO agenda.
  • Design and implement finance transformation initiatives, focusing on technology modernization.
  • Assess current financial processes and systems for improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and execute project plans, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Assist with business development initiatives, service offering development, proposal writing, and presentations.
  • Stay abreast of current business, industry and regulatory trends.
  • Build strong internal relationships within FAAS and across EY service lines.
People Management responsibilities
  • Develop people through coaching, feedback and mentoring.
  • Foster an inclusive, team‑oriented work environment.
  • Motivate diverse teams and conduct performance reviews.
  • Maintain an educational program for continual personal skill development.
  • Lead by example with workplace policies and procedures.
What we look for
  • 5‑7 years of related work experience in banking and capital markets.
  • Working knowledge of prudential regulatory rules in Canada.
  • Experience with capital infrastructure, budgeting, forecasting and performance measurement.
  • Process transformation and improvement methodologies.
  • Key accounting standards (IFRS 9, IAS 39, IAS 32) and financial close processes.
  • Project and change management methodologies.
  • Proven track record at a blue‑chip consulting firm.
  • Leading finance transformation programs covering assessment, design and implementation.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
  • High motivation, self‑start and travel willingness.
Ideally, you’ll also have
  • Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced team environment.
  • Ability to build credibility and trust quickly.
What we offer

The EY benefits package supports your physical, emotional, financial, and social wellbeing. It includes comprehensive medical, dental, and prescription drug coverage; mental health benefits; an Employee Assistance Program; group savings plans; generous time off; learning programs; internal advancement opportunities; and community volunteering through EY Ripples. We also promote a supportive and inclusive culture focused on diversity and inclusion.
