About this opportunity

Join our Conventional Engineering team as Manager, Facilities Engineering, based in Calgary. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Process & Facilities Engineering, you’ll lead a high-performing team responsible for evaluating, designing, and executing projects that range from under $10K to over $10MM in value.

This role combines technical depth with leadership impact— you’ll guide your team in making critical decisions and delivering practical, fit-for-purpose solutions that drive operational excellence. Success in this position requires strong communication skills to align efforts across all levels of the organization and maintain strong relationships with field operations.

What you’ll do
  • Champion personal and process safety as core values in all engineering work and decisions.
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers delivering projects from under $10K to over $10MM in value.
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to ensure practical, fit-for-purpose solutions and foster ownership within the team.
  • Oversee engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, documentation requirements, and quality expectations—including third‑party EPC work.
  • Authenticate in‑house engineering packages and develop standardized designs for wellsite development programs.
  • Refine project management systems to streamline stage gates and reduce administrative overhead.
  • Manage project delivery, resources, and risks to ensure solutions align with business goals and are appropriately resourced.
  • Maintain strong communication and collaboration with stakeholders, including field operations, production engineering, and other engineering teams, while promoting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Who you are

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • A Professional Engineer registered with APEGA, with the ability to authenticate engineering deliverables.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in operations and facilities engineering within oil and gas. Experience and knowledge specifically within upstream oil and gas and facility design considered an asset.
  • Skilled in developing and evolving standards, policies, processes, and best practices to drive consistency and efficiency.
  • Deep knowledge and application of industry codes and standards, including but not limited to ASME B31.3 and CSA Z662.
  • Strong understanding of facility design and project execution, with a proven ability to deliver practical, fit-for-purpose solutions.
