Position: Maintenance - Electrician

POSITION OVERVIEW :
As a Maintenance Electrician on the team your primary responsibilities will include examination, troubleshooting, replacement/repair of a wide variety of electrical and automation systems. You will provide technical support to the production team during runtime hours to ensure optimal functionality of all production equipment within the facility. Utilizing the internal asset management system your daily downtime routine will include preventative, corrective, and facility maintenance. Additional tasks may be required to meet operational demands.
Responsibilities
- Read equipment manuals and blueprints to successfully complete installations, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain motors, motor control logic, sensors, automation field devices, and pneumatic control systems.
- General facility electrical system maintenance (120-600V).
- Inspect and examine equipment to identify irregularities and malfunctions.
- Adjust equipment and repair/replace defective components.
- Proficient use of tools such as multi-meters, insulation testers, and thermal imagers to troubleshoot and identify electrical components in need of overhaul, maintenance, or calibration.
- Assemble equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects to optimize equipment safety, efficiency, and reliability.
- Complete work orders according to preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) schedules.
- Comply with all applicable legislative and bakery/food safety, health and safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Ensure work area is clean of debris and hazards at all times.
- Work in a safe manner in accordance with provincial and internal LOTO policy.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
- Ticketed in a nationally accredited Electrical Trade / Red Seal (Required).
- Minimum 3 years experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment (Food manufacturing is highly preferred).
- High aptitude with Industrial Electrical systems (Required).
- Proven track record working with multi-meters, insulation testers, and thermal imaging equipment (Required).
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs.
- Thrives in a team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Excel, Outlook).
- Focuses on continuous self-improvement.
- Basic PLC troubleshooting.
