About this opportunity

Reporting to the Maintenance Senior Coordinator, the Maintenance Technician, Instrumentation is responsible for the safe completion of work, which includes troubleshooting, repairing and commissioning equipment and systems, maintaining equipment records. This role will ensure all pipefitting activities are carried out in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

Work Environment

Rainbow Lake

• This is a full-time employee position working a shift rotation.
• This position is based in Rainbow Lake and is 14 days on 14 days off rotational role.
• The successful candidate must reside in Rainbow Lake while on shift.
• Please note, this is not a camp role and not a fly-in/fly-out position.
• While on rotation in Rainbow Lake, you will stay in company-provided housing. Please note that meals are not included and will be your responsibility.
• The successful candidate will need to commute to and from the community for each rotation.

What you’ll do

• Inspect, repair, test, and troubleshoot system components according to asset design, regulatory requirements and manufacturers\' specifications.
• Complete scheduled predictive and preventative maintenance work on applicable systems and equipment and support turnaround activities as required.
• Ensure all corporate and site operational/safety policies, procedures, practices, incident management and Life Saving Rules are followed.
• Manage maintenance records and use all applicable Cenovus business applications and processes.
• Perform First Line of Defense (LOD1) inspections on safety systems (e.g., Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), safe work permits, etc.).
• Work in conjunction with and oversee the work of our contingent workforce.

Who you are

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

• Legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Interprovincial pipefitter gas fitting certificate and/or provincially recognized Instrumentation Journeyman certificate.
• Dual ticket Certification Electrical/Instrumentation.

As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.

For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver\'s license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver\'s abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
