Overview

Support level position, working under indirect supervision of an experienced technician. May have supervisory duties over projects or personnel.

Responsibilities
  • Support level position, working under the indirect supervision of an experienced technician. May have supervisory duties over projects or personnel.
  • Follow company safety policies in both the shop and the field.
  • Maintain a clean workspace and monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate resources to perform required tasks
  • Repair and maintain field vehicles, rail-bound, HI Rail, and YTV and related equipment/components, perform field order repairs, inspections, adjustments, and troubleshoot maintenance issues.
  • Report/record the condition of vehicles. (Audits)
  • Fabrication and modification of new or existing equipment when required.
  • Ensure vehicle & equipment meet safety and quality compliance standards, participate in safety, health, and environmental programs.
  • Performs maintenance‑related special projects as required.
  • Ensure all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform vehicle audits and log SDMS.
  • Work under limited supervision following procedures to complete assigned tasks.
  • Diagnose and repair control systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
  • Carriage component repairs and routine maintenance
  • Kubota and hydraulic generator repairs
  • Respond to service calls and emergency breakdowns
  • Conduct routine safety checks on all vehicles and equipment
  • Completes Fleet Wave computer or tablet entries associated with repairs, parts, and accounts for time spent on the repairs
  • Identifies and completes repairs identified on Vehicle audits

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma/CAEC

2 years of electrical experience

2 years of truck mechanical experience

Ability to read wiring diagrams and assembly drawings

Mechanical experience with work equipment, heavy trucks,

Commercial Driver’s License (Class B) or equivalent

Participate in after‑hours on‑call rotation

Skills/Competencies: Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Maintain customer relationships and follow up on all customer complaints. Always maintain a professional and positive attitude toward employees and customers.
