Job description
Overview

Vesuvius Canada has an exciting opportunity for a full time Maintenance Mechanic based out of the Welland Manufacturing facility. The position offers a competitive wage and comprehensive benefit package.

To support the plant maintenance effort through timely and accurate completion of job assignments. This includes preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of plant production equipment and material handling systems.

Responsibilities
  • Operate within a multi-skilled environment to maintain the plant's machinery and equipment, while improving processes
  • Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment in accordance with standardized procedures
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment, including pneumatic and hydraulic systems, drives, bearings and gears
  • Repair and replace parts as required by the Company's preventative maintenance program
  • Calibrate equipment and ensure that adequate controls and safety measures are functional
  • Provide ongoing assistance and support in the day to day activities of the shop
  • Interact with various individuals at different levels within the company
  • Perform other related duties as
Job Requirements
  • Demonstrating your commitment to safety in the workplace
  • Minimum 5 years industrial experience
  • Millwright Certified
  • Ontario Certificate of Qualification in an applicable mechanical trade
  • Welding experience- CWB or TSSA welding certification is an asset
  • Strong problem-solving skills related to troubleshooting equipment issues, preferably in a fast-paced manufacturing/industrial
  • Sound understanding of work safe programs (PPE, LO/TO, Confined Space}
  • Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and working conditions
  • Able to work independently
  • Excellent communications skills
