Job description

Maintenance Technician – Afternoon Shift

Location: Concord
Shift: Afternoon (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM)
Pay: $34–$38/hour (based on experience)
Contract: 2-3 months with opportunity for extension

We’re looking for a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our growing food manufacturing team on the afternoon shift. If you’re hands-on, mechanically sharp, and thrive in a fast-paced production environment, this is a solid opportunity with competitive pay and steady work.

What You’ll Do

You’ll be responsible for keeping our processing and packaging equipment running safely, efficiently, and reliably. This includes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, modify, install, and maintain processing & packaging equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance on:
    • Processing equipment: conveyors, vibratory shakers, pumps, hoists, HVAC, and food processing machinery
    • Packaging equipment: VFFS baggers, multi-head scales, labelers, metal detectors, check weighers, tray sealers
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
  • Read and interpret manuals, schematics, blueprints, and diagrams
  • Adjust machinery settings and replace defective components
  • Install, align, dismantle, and move industrial machinery
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow all GMP, HACCP, and safety standards
  • Support production as needed and assist with continuous improvement efforts
Shift Details
  • Afternoon shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
  • Must be flexible to stay until production is complete
  • Sunday availability required for preventive maintenance
  • Overtime and weekends as needed
What We’re Looking For
  • Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance experience (food industry preferred)
  • Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with packaging machinery (VFFS, tray sealers, labelers, metal detectors, etc.) preferred
  • Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certificate required
  • Fabrication & TIG welding skills are an asset (not mandatory)
  • Able to communicate effectively in English (written & verbal)
  • Strong problem-solving, time-management, and safety awareness
Physical & Work Environment
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs
  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, working at heights/scissor lifts
  • Cold and wet production environments
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Compensation
  • $34–$38 per hour, depending on electro-mechanical experience in a food processing environment
