Overview

Maintenance, Property Support for Kitchener – Guelph: Are you a skilled and dedicated individual with a strong background in plumbing and mechanical systems? MillDon Living is seeking a proactive and reliable full-time Maintenance Support Technician to provide cohesive support across 3 high-rise apartment towers — 2 in Kitchener and 1 in downtown Guelph.

As a vital part of our property management operations, you will collaborate closely with the Maintenance Lead, Resident Managers, Regional Property Manager, and Facilities team members to support day-to-day maintenance needs, preventative programs, and capital projects. This role is key to enhancing how we approach maintenance in the region and ensuring a consistent, high-quality resident experience.

Responsibilities
  • Plumbing & Mechanical Expertise: Apply advanced technical skills to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot plumbing and mechanical systems across multiple high-rise apartment buildings.
  • Maintenance & Repairs: Perform general maintenance tasks, including electrical, carpentry, painting, and appliance repairs, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.
  • Service Requests: Respond promptly to resident maintenance requests, troubleshoot issues, and complete repairs efficiently.
  • Vendor & Contractor Coordination: Assist with scheduling and overseeing external vendors for specialized work, ensuring quality and compliance with MillDon Living standards.
  • Property Upkeep: Support the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of common areas, amenities, and building systems.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to urgent situations such as leaks, floods, or system outages, mitigating damages and ensuring resident safety.
  • Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with property and facilities team members to ensure smooth communication and effective operations across the region.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of plumbing and mechanical experience in high-rise apartment buildings.
  • Experience with contractor and vendor coordination.
  • Flexibility to work across multiple locations.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance and supporting building projects.
  • Experience in rental housing or property management, and knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act – a definite lead advantage.
  • A solution-oriented, team-focused mindset.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Maintenance Lead, Resident Managers, Regional Property Manager, and Facilities team members.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required.
