The Role

Canadian Linen is looking for Plant Maintenance Mechanic for our building, yard, minor mechanical repairs on Conveyor and Railing systems. The successful incumbent will maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures rules and regulations.

What you’ll do
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Operate wastewater system
  • Operation of air compressor, Air Dryer, Low volume boiler, Hot water tanks and other utilities equipment
  • Fix/replace lights and ballasts in light fixtures in the building & outside
  • Building maintenance – any building-related repairs
  • Metricon system conveyors maintenance – cleaning, replace worn conveyor tubing
  • Performing preventive maintenance - plant equipment – mat rollers, finishing tunnel conveyor chains, ironers, shipping rails (Planiform), scissor lift, forklift
  • Maintenance of Futurail soiled linen rail system
  • Provide emergency / unscheduled / scheduled repairs of production equipment during production
  • Any other maintenance job as required
Qualifications
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position (including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. consistently and push/pull up to 300 lbs. assisted)
  • Minimum educational requirement of high school diploma OR GED with relevant work experience and trade certificates
  • Self-motivation and ability to work in an environment without direct supervision for extended periods of time
  • Ability to act in accordance with Standard Procedures supporting company-wide Operational, Service and Safety guidelines
  • A positive attitude and demonstration of core values including Integrity, Trust, Respect & Responsibility
