Summary

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all skilled technical work related to the maintenance, repair and upgrade of building systems, facilities, and related installations. The role manages day-to-day operations, directs and supervises maintenance staff, and ensure the implementation of preventative and corrective maintenance programs. The Maintenance Manager acts as the companys representative in the absence of the Director of Airport Facilities Operations, to whom this position reports.

Scope of duties and responsibilities
Leadership and Supervision
  • Act as company representative in the Directors absence.
  • Supervise maintenance staff, including scheduling, work assignment, and shop / vehicle upkeep.
  • Provide on-call support for maintenance emergencies during off-hours
Facilities and Maintenance Operations
  • Implement and manage preventative and corrective maintenance programs for all facility systems.
  • Oversee Electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, and building repair tasks.
  • Ensure work areas, equipment, and tools are maintained in safe, clean, and organized condition.
  • Participate in renovation and remodeling projects as needed.
  • Prepare estimates, order supplies, and maintain inventory of parts and equipment.
Health, Safety and Compliance
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with WorkSafe BC regulations and company safety policies.
  • Promote a culture of safety, equality, and customer service among the maintenance team.
  • Participate in the companys quality control program and support organizational objectives.
  • Carry out emergency and after-hour work as required.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Authorized to work in Canada
  • Minimum five years of supervisory or lead experience in facility management
  • Previous experience in building maintenance within a large public or regulated environment
  • Valid BC Drivers License
  • Ability to obtain required Transport Canada and YLW security clearance
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards, safe working practices, and WorkSafe BC regulations
  • Experience working with CMMS systems
  • Experience working with a BMS systems
  • First Aid and CPR certifications (or ability to obtain)
