Job Description
CUSTOMER
  • Provide expertise on fundamental engineering practices for the broader AI/ML engineering team and inspire the adoption of ML engineering practice across the organization.
  • Interpret the meaning of new strategic directions and set objectives and measurements.
  • Implement monitoring and feedback systems to evaluate progress and identify ways of making continuous improvements.
  • Gather and analyze information or data on current and future trends of best engineering practices.
  • Seek information on issues impacting the progress of organizational, engineering and process issues.
SHAREHOLDER
  • Adhere to enterprise frameworks or methodologies that relate to activities for our business area.
  • Ensure respective programs/policies/practices are well managed, meet business needs, comply with internal and external requirements, and align with business priorities.
  • Consistently exercise discretion in managing correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality; elevate issues where appropriate.
  • Ensure business operations comply with applicable internal and external requirements (e.g., financial controls, segregation of duties, transaction approvals and physical control of assets).
  • Participate in cross-functional or enterprise initiatives as a subject‑matter expert helping to identify risk and provide guidance for complex situations.
  • Conduct internal and external research projects; support the development/delivery of presentations and communications to management or broader audiences.
  • Conduct meaningful analysis at the functional or enterprise level to draw conclusions, make recommendations and assess effectiveness of programs, policies or practices.
  • Monitor service, productivity and assess efficiency levels within own function and implement continuous process or performance improvements where opportunities exist.
  • Lead or facilitate remediation plans to address performance, risk or governance issues.
  • Actively manage relationships within and across various business lines, corporate and control functions and ensure alignment with enterprise or regulatory requirements.
  • Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts.
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes aligned with risk appetite.

BREADTH & DEPTH
  • Work autonomously and is accountable for sound knowledge of AI/ML engineering fundamentals, frameworks, tools, processes and procedures, as well as organization issues, best engineering practices and business standards.
  • Sound knowledge of applications, systems, innovation, system design activities and best engineering practices.
  • Solves complex problems, takes new perspectives on existing solutions, independently performs tasks from end to end to deliver quality results and meet timelines (may work under guidance of more senior roles).
  • Generally reports to a Senior Manager or above role.
EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION
  • Undergraduate degree required; advanced technical degree preferred (e.g., math, physics, engineering, finance or computer science); graduate’s degree preferred with progressive project work experience.
