about this team

From concept through to pre-production stage, Product Development is the front-line regarding communication with the finished goods vendor base, launching sketches, requesting sampling, fitting product, and keeping an accurate data library of the life cycle of a product. Product Development is a truly cross functional working group that pivot to partners such as Design, Concept, Global Fit, Technical Development, Quality, Merchandising, Finished Goods Sourcing, Raw Materials, and Go To Market operations to deliver a commercially ready product to our buying teams.

core responsibilities
  • Complete and manage style BOM initiation for mid to high complexity styles from concept through to production readiness
  • Maintain data integrity in Flex PLM and other relevant systems
  • Organize daily workflow that adheres to GTM deliverables & development timelines
  • Collaborate with internal and external resources (Labs, vendor co-creation) to solve innovation opportunities both during and outside of key calendar milestones
  • Mentor and train team on daily activity execution
  • Enable communication and influence cross-functional partners for issue resolution at all levels
  • Educate and encourage business-oriented perspectives focused on big picture priorities
  • Gain support and enrollment of the intended audience, peers, and stakeholders through both verbal and visual communication and education
  • Understand the positions of others and builds commitment to the recommended course of action
  • Track and conduct risk assessments and identify High Attention Styles (HAS) based on vendor, style, and materials
  • Present and advice on style development status at key product meetings
  • Generates new and feasible ways of working
  • Partner with cross-functional peers to optimize product through guest insights
  • Proactive to initiate research and development by looking to competitive landscape through market research, trend analysis and vendor showrooms
  • Build relationships with key vendors to ensure that standardized ways of working and communication are clear and delivered
qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent professional experience; focused training in Technical Design, Product Management, Product Development or relevant experience preferred
  • 8+ years minimum industry experience (preferably within the Product Development, Product Management or Sourcing departments)
  • Proficiency in MS office (Excel/Word/Outlook), Adobe Design Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop)
  • Proficiency with Flex PLM or similar PLM software is recommended
Must haves
  • Familiarity or proficiency with Gerber Pattern Making and/or 3D software (CLO, Browzwear) is an asset
  • Strong applied comprehension of end-to-end product life cycle
  • Attention to detail, initiative, organization, strong verbal, and written communication skills
  • Manage multiple tasks and competing priorities
  • Practiced in the art of mentoring and training others
  • Engage and enroll cross-functional peers and leadership at product presentations
  • Self-motivated, strong sense of urgency, and a collaborative mindset

compensation and benefits package

lululemon's compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $119,200 - 129,600 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
