Securiguard is seeking passionate and experienced individuals to join our Loss Prevention (plain clothes) team. Join us in this elite role where your vigilance and dedication contribute to the overall shrink reduction success of our retail partner.

What You Will Do

Your role involves safeguarding the assets and minimizing losses for our retail client. You will conduct undercover surveillance, identify and prevent theft, fraud, or other security infractions, and interact with customers and employees to deter shoplifting incidents while maintaining professionalism. You will investigate suspicious activities and collaborate with mall security and law enforcement when necessary, and you will complete detailed incident reports. We are seeking candidates who strive for excellence and are committed to ensuring a safe and secure environment for both staff and customers.

What You Bring

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid First Aid & CPR
• Police foundations, Criminal Justice Studies (etc) backgrounds preferred
• Undercover experience preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong observational skills and situational awareness
• Demonstrated ability to prepare detailed incident reports
• Knowledge of Trespass to Property Act (TPA), Canada Criminal Code and 494(c)
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
• Ability to conduct arrests in appropriate and sanctioned situations
• Military / Police background / Law Enforcement background is an asset
• Punctuality

Training

Use of Force and Crisis Management training will be provided, including mandatory annual re-certification. The training is provided to new employees for this role along with Securiguard University Orientations courses for skill development.
