Overview
OB/GYN Call Coverage with 24-hour call shifts. In-house call is required. Response time to be onsite is 30 minutes. Call start/stop times are from 7 a.m. to 7 a.m.
Responsibilities
- Provide OB/GYN call coverage as specified (24-hour shifts).
- Attend to on-call hospital needs including C-sections and complicated deliveries as required.
- Document patient contact hours and call back hours in accordance with the timesheet requirements and rates.
- Include notes to verify call back hours and overtime hours, with detailed descriptions suitable for audit in the electronic health record.
- Obtain pre-approval from a manager or designee for overtime (hours over 40 per week).
- Note that telephone calls and medical record reviews are not considered on-site call back; call-back time does not include travel time to/from housing when responding to a hospital request.
- Physicians are not required to be on-site while providing Call Support; Market billing should reflect only when the physician is actually on-site per the stated criteria.

Documentation and Compliance
- Documentation of Patient Contact Hours (included call-back hours and charged call-back hours) is required.
- Physicians must provide supporting notes on timesheet entries to verify call-back hours and overtime.
- Timesheets must document the specific reason for the call-back with a description suitable for audit validation in the electronic health record.
Hours and Timekeeping
