Job description
Overview

OB/GYN Call Coverage with 24-hour call shifts. In-house call is required. Response time to be onsite is 30 minutes. Call start/stop times are from 7 a.m. to 7 a.m.

Responsibilities
  • Provide OB/GYN call coverage as specified (24-hour shifts).
  • Attend to on-call hospital needs including C-sections and complicated deliveries as required.
  • Document patient contact hours and call back hours in accordance with the timesheet requirements and rates.
  • Include notes to verify call back hours and overtime hours, with detailed descriptions suitable for audit in the electronic health record.
  • Obtain pre-approval from a manager or designee for overtime (hours over 40 per week).
  • Note that telephone calls and medical record reviews are not considered on-site call back; call-back time does not include travel time to/from housing when responding to a hospital request.
  • Physicians are not required to be on-site while providing Call Support; Market billing should reflect only when the physician is actually on-site per the stated criteria.
  • Expected time in the hospital is variable.
