Your key responsibilities

  • Supervise aquatic activities, ensuring the safety of all patrons.
  • Respond swiftly to emergencies and provide first aid as needed.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of pool areas and equipment.
  • Offer suggestions to improve operational practices for a better experience.
  • Represent the City of Medicine Hat with professionalism and positivity.

Qualifications

  • Minimum age of 16 years.
  • Possess a current:
    • National Lifeguard Pool (NL – Pool) Award
    • National Lifeguard Waterpark (NL – WP) Award
    • National Lifeguard Waterfront (NL – WF) Award
    • Standard First Aid (Level "C" CPR) Certificate, issued within the last twelve months at time of hiring.
    • Starfish Aquatic Instructor (SAI) Certificate
  • Equivalent combination of approved training and experience considered.

Additional Requirements: This position has been identified as Safety Sensitive and requires the completion of a satisfactory pre-employment drug screen. There will also be a requirement to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check and Intervention Record Check.
