Job description

We are seeking detail-oriented and highly organized Lien Clerk. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and processing lien files, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, preparing and serving all necessary documents, maintaining accurate records, conducting lien-related research, liaising with clients and legal professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Document preparation - preparing, editing and formatting correspondence and legal documents;
  2. Liaise with clients and industry professionals to resolve lien-related issues;
  3. File management - managing large and complex files, developing, maintaining and utilizing an orderly filing and retrieval process to ensure ease of reference to paper and electronic records;
  4. Ensure that all lien notices and communications comply with legislative requirements.
  5. Monitor lien deadlines; and,
  6. Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

The successful candidate must have the following education, experience and demonstrated skills:

  1. Paralegal
  2. Advanced technical skills in Microsoft Word (with emphasis on styles and formatting), Excel, Word,
  3. Meticulous attention to detail and desire to provide high quality, accurate work
  4. Exceptional communication skills to be able to liaise with lawyers and clients
  5. Exceptional time management, organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to work under pressure, complete tasks with speed and accuracy and the ability to multi-task in response to changing situations
  6. Excellent judgement and the ability to excise discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters
  7. High client service orientation
  8. Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently, take initiative and be resourceful
  9. Flexibility to occasionally work overtime
