Description

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications
  • CTAS within 6 months of hire.
  • IV initiation and infusion therapy certification or equivalent proof of competency.
  • Experience using Windows computers, Outlook, Connect Care.
  • This position involves a combination of sitting, standing, walking, pushing, patient transfer, pulling, typing, and fine motor tasks, with lifting requirements of up to 50 lbs. occasionally, 21–50 lbs. frequently, and 0–20 lbs. constantly.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ACLS, PALS, ENPC, and TNCC or EPIC.
  • Rural Nurse Connect Care Trained.
  • RSI Training or airway management experience, procedural sedation training.
  • Education/experience with breastfeeding support.
  • 1 year experience labor and delivery, emergency or rural acute care in the last 3 years.
