Your Opportunity: This is an exciting opportunity to provide quality patient care at the Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre (Long Term Care setting). Join the passionate and diverse team at the Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre in Claresholm, Alberta. Claresholm is nestled in the Porcupine Hills and offers outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, and fishing. This position is in Claresholm, approximately 136 km south of Calgary and 80 km north of Lethbridge. Under the management of the Patient Care Manager, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works as a member of a health care team, collaborating on the delivery of care to meet the needs of patients/clients. The LPN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care and works in consultation with Registered Nurses (RNs) and members of the interdisciplinary team to meet the needs of more complex patients/clients. The LPN also directs and provides resident care, supervises and schedules staff as necessary, and collaborates with families and residents. As one of the leaders of the front-line team, you will ensure the care needs of residents are met in a comprehensive and timely manner. The LPN is responsible and accountable to the public for their practice, according to the Standards defined by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) Standards of Practice (2003). Working in this position you can qualify for the Canadian Student Loan Forgiveness for Nurses. If you qualify, you could receive up to $20,000 in Canada Student Loan forgiveness over a maximum of five years ($4,000 per year).
