Overview

Lead Mechanical Engineer - Mining, Minerals and Metals (MMM) – Oakville, Ontario. Worley is hiring a Lead Mechanical Engineer to support the Mechanical Engineering team with design and engineering work for studies and projects within the MMM sector. This is a full-time position based in Oakville, Ontario.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver mechanical engineering services that meet Worley, its customers and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
  • Contribute to studies and projects.
  • Prepare technical specifications, data sheets and vendor data requirements (VDDR) for mechanical equipment.
  • Perform technical bid evaluations leading to a recommendation and ultimate purchase of equipment.
  • Perform complex engineering calculations for piping, equipment and systems.
  • Liaise with suppliers in the purchase of equipment when needed.
  • Familiar with applicable codes and standards; perform calculations.
  • Review shop drawings and attend inspections as required.
  • Prepare project scope of work, planning and support RFQs (Requests for Quotation).
  • Identify and report changes to study / project scope.
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments and technical innovations in mechanical engineering.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with demonstrated expertise in mechanical engineering and a strong track record of success in similar roles.
  • Registered with PEO as a Professional Engineer.
