Job Title

Lead Hand, Millwright (14473)

Lead and coordinate Electrical and Instrumentation resources for Côté Gold. Lead the team to deliver safe, responsible and effective electrical and instrumentation services. Support, coach, train and create space for the team to be successful.

Key Responsibilities
Area 1: Leadership of Electrical and Instrumentation resources
  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with other shift supervisors, engineers, and maintenance personnel in preparing and coordinating electrical and instrumentation services.
  • Organize the maintenance activities, assign and coordinate mechanical personnel and/or on-site contractors according to the maintenance program.
  • Lead and empower employees in achieving world class mechanical services and improve employee work performance and efficiency through mentorship and feedback.
  • Create space for the team to be effective in delivering results.
  • Foster an inclusive work environment.
  • Provide clear work objectives and expectations of the performance levels required to achieve business plans and maintenance targets.
  • Ensure that training is provided in accordance with the current and future needs of Côté Gold.
  • Offer new approaches, methods or policies to optimize performance and ensure compliance with industry regulations and organizational standards.
  • Administer and comply with system requirements in a manner consistent with policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Perform worksite inspections and safe work observations; participate in and lead investigations.
Area 2: Operational Excellence
  • Seek opportunities to improve mechanical services.
  • Be proactive and solution driven and implement operational improvements.
  • Commit to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Continually seek to improve your skills as a Supervisor, Mechanical.
  • Watch for inefficiencies or problems.
  • Ensure problems and inefficiencies are shared with others.
  • Work collaboratively to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Consider risk along the five dimensions (throughput, time, quality, sustainability and cost).
Area 3: Collaboration for operational reliability
  • Coordinate with other team members on site to meet shift deliverables.
  • Participate in and lend your expertise to the team.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively using the tools provided.
  • Ensure equipment logs and shift logs are accurate and complete.
  • Ensure any deficiencies are communicated to the appropriate team members for follow up.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on our commitment to our team, our communities, the environment, and our shareholders.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements and Nice To Haves

  • College diploma in industrial mechanic (millwright) or another related field.
  • Certificate of Qualification (Red Seal) is required.
  • Completed apprenticeship is required.

Work Experience

  • 5 or more years of experience as a Millwright, Machinist, Welder, Pipefitter or Mechanical Engineer.
  • 1 or more years of leadership experience.
  • Previous exposure to lean and multi-disciplinary team leadership is desirable, but not essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and empower multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proven communication skills, both verbal, written and non-verbal.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Understand efficiency drivers in a mining and milling operation.
  • Self-motivated individual who is driven to find solutions and strive for continuous improvement in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of mechanical physics.
  • Lead by example in Health and Safety, in work ethic and in behaviors.
  • Adhere to and promote the company's values.
