Team

The Wealth Data engineering team within the Global Wealth Engineering (GWE) is the key team in meeting the operational data needs of the various stakeholders within Wealth Management. The Lead Data Analyst will play a key role in designing and implementing business solutions using Google cloud, working closely with the enterprise data team, data architects, solution architects, data analysts and data engineers.

Role Statement

Lead Data Analyst – play a key role in designing and implementing business solutions using Google cloud.

Responsibilities
  • Gather requirements, conduct research, and provide actionable insights to solve business problems, collaborating with multiple teams to ensure project goals meet business needs and documenting findings through reports and presentations.
  • Serve as a data analyst and technical support for information systems, analyzing current business processes and overseeing integration and implementation of effective business practices into the appropriate information systems.
  • Promote efficiency through systems used in the company, improving and optimizing current systems and creating new systems to support the company’s strategies.
  • Create technical documents inclusive of mapping details and design and implement data ingestion patterns that support batch, streaming and API interfaces on both the Ingress and Egress.
  • Guide a team of data analysts and work hands‑on in developing framework and mapping specifications using best practices to meet demanding performance requirements.
  • Use advanced technical knowledge to support claims and answer clients’ questions about proposed changes.
  • Provide end‑to‑end business/technical guidance and expertise on data and referential integrity across LOBs.
  • Define use‑case scenarios and validate the scenarios.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in data analysis, performance optimization for large OLTP applications.
  • Knowledge of Wealth Industry – Retail/Wealth, IIROC‑CRM guidelines, CRA guidelines.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal and consultative skills.
  • Analytical thinking and problem solving.
  • Attention to detail and ability to deliver a high level of accuracy.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of business structure.
  • Stakeholder analysis.
  • Expertise with Hadoop HDFS, Hive, Pig, Flume, and Sqoop.
  • Working experience with Google Cloud Platform databases (SQL, Spanner, PostgreSQL).
  • Experience with relational/NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with data streaming technologies such as Kafka, Spark‑streaming, etc.
