Job Description

We are seeking highly organized and detail-oriented Law Clerks to join our client's dynamic legal team in the greater Toronto area including Kitchener, Durham region, Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville, Hamilton. In this role, you will provide crucial support to attorneys, assisting with various legal tasks and ensuring smooth operation of their practice.

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and contracts
  • Manage case files and maintain accurate, up-to-date records in our case management system
  • Assist attorneys in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and preparing trial binders
  • Schedule depositions, hearings, and client meetings
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel in a professional manner
  • Perform conflict checks and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • File documents with courts and government agencies, ensuring compliance with deadlines and procedures
  • Assist with document review and e-discovery processes
  • Prepare and proofread correspondence, legal memoranda, and other documents
  • Manage attorneys' calendars and coordinate travel arrangements when necessary
Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or related field
  • 2-3 years of experience in a law firm or legal department
  • Paralegal certification preferred
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills
  • Proficiency in case management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
