What you'll do

As a Lang Seasonal - Grounds & Maintenance, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the historic Lang Pioneer Village site and museum. With over 25,000 visitors a year, it’s important to maintain clean and safe facilities. Your role will encompass various duties to provide you with a comprehensive experience in facility management and site upkeep.

  • Ground Maintenance: Complete various duties such as lawn cutting, weed whacking, landscaping, and minor repairs to buildings and equipment.
  • Sanitation and Cleaning: Help keep our village and facilities clean by assisting with cleaning, and collecting and disposing of garbage and recycling.
  • Livestock Care: Assist daily with feeding the livestock, and cleaning, maintaining and repairing their enclosures.

In accordance with County Policy, a Vulnerable Sector Check that is acceptable to the County will be required as a condition of employment.

This job is for you if…
  • Our non-negotiables: You are a hands-on individual with a passion for the trades. You have a valid Ontario G2 (or higher) driver’s license, a clean driver’s abstract, and are comfortable operating a light-duty pickup truck. You have, or are willing to purchase, CSA-approved footwear before the start date.
  • Experience: You have experience in, or are interested in gaining experience in, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or welding. You’ve honed your skills in lawn care, and have experience caring for livestock.
