Where Will You Work:

Onsite Colonsay (Junction Highway 16 & 2)

Laboratory Technician

The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately performing all routine and non‑routine shipping, refinery, and field samples in a safe and timely fashion. This position requires efficiency with minimal direction and supervision.

What you’ll do?
  • Plan and perform high‑quality, accurate, thorough, and timely sample collection, preparation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Utilize effective oral and written communication skills to ensure analysis results are communicated promptly and professionally.
  • Analyze and evaluate problems, troubleshoot instrument issues, and make sound decisions based on available information.
  • Demonstrate competence in operation and calibration of analytical instrumentation.
  • Ensure that safety and housekeeping standards in your areas of responsibility are maintained at high levels.
  • Attend and participate in safety training, meetings, audits, and shift starts.
  • Work as a team member demonstrating cooperation and team‑building skills within the laboratory and across departments.
  • Participate in, monitor compliance with, and establish priorities within the Analytical Quality Assurance Program as well as the Chemical, Instrument, and Equipment Maintenance Program.
What you’ll need:
  • Post‑secondary technical degree, diploma, or certificate from a recognized institution in a chemistry or chemical‑related field, or equivalent experience. Preference for Chemical Technology Diploma.
  • Experience working with analytical instruments such as XRF, ICP, FTNIR and Particle size analyzers is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIMS) is a plus.
  • Demonstrate aptitude for safety.
  • Excellent communication, organization, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
  • Employment is subject to successfully completing Mosaic's pre‑employment checks including criminal, drug and alcohol testing.
  • Must be able to work 12‑hour rotating shifts.
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada.
