Responsibilities
  • Venous, capillary and special collections including neonatal/pediatric collections and difficult draws
  • Prioritize work or respond to Stat, Urgent and Routine requests
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure quality patient care
  • Receive and organize requests for blood collection
  • Dispatch samples to the laboratory
  • Assist with inventory and supply control
  • Assist in orientation/training of new staff or students
  • Organize workload among technical team to ensure efficiency
Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Abilities
  • Secondary school diploma
  • Mandatory phlebotomy experience
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Assistant from MLPAO or CSLMS is preferred
  • Meditech experience is an asset
  • Good understanding of Quality Management / Quality Improvement / Quality Assurance
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team in a fast‑paced environment
  • Provide excellent patient service and ensure confidentiality of patient information
Salary Range

$30.84 to $35.15
