Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Lead to oversee and elevate the daily operations of our kitchen. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a focus on training and team development, and a passion for maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction. This role is central to ensuring the kitchen runs efficiently while supporting a positive and collaborative culture.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, supervise, and schedule kitchen staff to ensure proper coverage and smooth service during all shifts.
  • Provide hands-on training and continuous coaching to new and existing team members on cooking techniques, food safety, service standards, and company policies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment at all times, setting the standard for cleanliness and enforcing daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning checklists.
  • Oversee food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation to ensure consistent quality and portion control.
  • Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and manage stock rotation to minimize waste and ensure the kitchen is always well-prepared.
  • Collaborate closely with the front-of-house team to align on service flow, timing, and customer experience.
  • Address and resolve any customer concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal items, customer feedback, and creative new ideas.
  • Ensure all health, safety, and food-handling regulations are followed consistently.
  • Track kitchen workflow, manage orders through the POS system, and adapt staffing or processes to meet demand.
  • Support hiring by interviewing and onboarding new staff members when required.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in kitchen leadership, restaurant management, or a similar role within the food industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, and develop a diverse team.
  • Experience creating and managing staff schedules to balance efficiency and labor needs.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations, cleaning protocols, and best practices in food preparation.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an eye for detail and consistency.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities to work collaboratively with both kitchen and front-of-house teams.
  • Previous experience as a cook or chef is highly desirable.
