Job description

Westman Lumber Supply Ltd. is seeking a creative Kitchen & Finishing Sales Associate to join our growing team. This role focuses on designing beautiful, functional kitchen spaces and providing expert guidance on finishing products, including flooring, paint, faucets, and lighting.

You will work directly with homeowners, builders, and contractors to deliver customized product recommendations, and exceptional service, from project concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead customers through the kitchen design process, offering expert advice on cabinetry, countertops, hardware, and layout.
  • Assist with finishing product selection, including flooring, tile, paint, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and related materials.
  • Create professional kitchen layouts and renderings using 2020 3D Design (or similar) software.
  • Conduct in-depth client consultations to understand project goals, style preferences, and budget.
  • Prepare accurate quotes, proposals, and sales orders; follow up to support customers through each stage of their project.
  • Maintain and enhance showroom displays to reflect current trends and available inventory.
  • Collaborate with team members, suppliers, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Develop strong client relationships and deliver outstanding, solutions-driven customer service.
  • Stay informed about current design trends, new products, and industry standards.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in interior design, kitchen design and bath design, construction, or a related field is an asset.
  • Previous experience in kitchen sales, interior design, or finishing product sales (flooring, tile, paint, lighting, plumbing) is preferred.
  • Proficiency with design software such as 2020 Design, SketchUp, or similar is an asset; ability to interpret blueprints or floor plans is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a professional, customer-oriented approach.
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
  • A positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and willingness to participate in ongoing training.
