About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Justice and Community Safety Leadership (JCSL) Online Instructor to guide and mentor students in our diploma program. This role plays a vital part in preparing students for careers in protective services, security, and community safety, equipping them with both technical skills and a deep understanding of ethics, leadership, and cultural awareness.

Using our comprehensive curriculum, you will deliver engaging instruction across a wide range of topics—from crisis intervention and investigation strategies to cultural safety and leadership development.

This part time role and has the potential to lead to future instructional opportunities, advancing your career in education.

Start date: Tuesday Feb 03, 2026

Rate Range: $33.00-$35.00/hour

Schedule: Tuesday and Thursday (5:30pm to 9:30pm) Saturday (8:30am to 5:00pm)

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruct and facilitate student learning using college-provided curriculum and resources
  • Deliver interactive lessons in areas such as crisis intervention, investigation, conflict management, leadership, and Canadian justice systems, de-escalation tactics and harm reductions.
  • Support and mentor students in developing practical skills for real-world application
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records
  • Foster an inclusive, respectful, and engaging classroom environment
  • Coordinate and guide students during practicum and service-learning components
Qualifications
  • Certificate, diploma, or degree in criminology, law enforcement, justice studies, or a related field
  • Minimum 24 months of relevant occupational experience, OR 10 years of related field experience
  • Teaching, training, or mentoring experience is an asset
  • Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Office 365)
  • Commitment to supporting and motivating adult learners
