Job Summary

Langan is seeking a Site/Civil Engineer to join its collaborative team in Calgary, AB. This individual will be reporting directly to the Site/Civil Lead in the Calgary office. This individual will serve a key function in providing the planning, design, and permitting of land/community development and infrastructure projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to grow your career by working alongside the Site/Civil Lead on land/community development projects including residential, mixed‑use, commercial, industrial, institutional, and other exciting land development projects in a continuous learning environment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist the Site/Civil Lead in all aspects of the work, including project delivery and client service;
  • Preparation of proposals and fee estimates;
  • Preparation and modification of various engineering documents including reports, memos, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and cost estimates;
  • Preparation of design plans for projects using engineering and design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.) and equipment;
  • Coordination with approving authorities for permit approvals;
  • Familiarity with current permitting from Calgary and adjacent municipalities is a plus;
  • Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments; and
  • Perform other job duties as requested.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering;
  • EIT designation with APEGA. P. Eng. designation with APGEA preferred;
  • 3+ years of prior relevant professional experience in site/civil design, including site planning, grading, utility design, storm water management, and erosion and sediment control;
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities; and
  • Demonstrated ability to follow direction and work in a collaborative team environment.
