Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking an entry-level Field Engineer/Coordinator to join their team in Calgary. The role involves rotational field work and extensive travel, supporting project management with responsibilities that include cost control, procurement, and material management. Candidates should possess a university degree in engineering and have up to 2 years of relevant experience, alongside strong leadership and communication skills. Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word is required, with knowledge of estimating software being advantageous.

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years construction field experience (oil & gas/mining experience an asset).
  • Basic understanding of scheduling, cost control, material management, and estimating.

Responsibilities

  • Support project management and QC with cost control, scheduling, procurement.
  • Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews and supervision.
  • Perform quantity calculations, takeoffs, and progress tracking.
  • Prepare work plans, packages, JHAs, and as-built data.
  • Coordinate and schedule material deliveries, field crews, and subcontractors.
  • Participate in estimating and provide input on historical data, risks, and takeoffs.
