We are looking for a junior or intermediate environmental engineer or scientist that is able join our team and have immediate involvement in our projects.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in engineering, environmental science, or similar with eligibility for P.Eng. / P.Geo.
Work Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform sampling activities for soil, surface water, groundwater, sediment, etc.
- Project coordination and management from the proposal phase through to project completion.
- Field work related to environmental site investigations, environmental monitoring, surveying, and construction / remediation supervision.
- Field work related to industrial hygiene services including air monitoring, air sampling, mould assessments, performing indoor air quality assessments (IAQs), moisture surveys, designated substance surveys (DSS) etc.
- Respond to emergency projects on occasion for various clients to support environmental response activities, provide oversight of contractors, and conduct emergency environmental sampling. This responsibility is not frequent, but may be required on a 24/7 basis periodically.
- Preparation of technical reports to communicate results of data analysis and findings of field investigations.
- Communication with clients to develop scope of work, proposals, cost estimates, and budget updates.
- Development of plans, procedures, operation and maintenance manuals, and other technical documents for a variety of projects as needed.
- Work activities may require travel across Ontario and on occasion across Canada depending on client project needs.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A minimum of 2-5 years of work experience in a similar industry or field, consulting experience considered an asset.
- Familiarity with completing all aspects of environmental site assessments under CSA standards and/or O.Reg. 153/04
- Experience with implementing excess soil sampling, programs and reporting required under O.Reg. 406/19
- Experience with environmental monitoring activities including soil, surface water, groundwater, and sediment sampling.
- Experience with spill response projects considered an asset.
- Experience with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is considered an asset.
- Experience with use of survey equipment is considered an asset.
- Experience with surface water infrastructure, compliance, operation and maintenance, and design is considered an asset.
- Experience with industrial hygiene work, air monitoring, air sampling activities, mould assessments, IAQs, and DSS’s considered an asset.
- Valid G license in good standing and access to vehicle.
- Comfortable performing field work in any weather condition and comfortable with business travel as required on occasion.
- Team player that is willing to have flexibility in work hours and tasks performed.
