Rate: £440 - £480 per day
Outside IR35

Location: Vauxhall, London - approx. 2-3 days per week on-site
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: 12 months+

Overview

We are seeking a Junior Information Assurance Consultant to support the organisation's Cyber & Information Assurance (C&IA) function. This role provides security assurance direction across major programmes and business functions-including Data Analytics and IT-while also supporting a variety of smaller projects and workstreams.

You will ensure that the technical, procedural, and physical controls used to protect organisational data are robust, appropriate, and compliant with all relevant government and legislative requirements. The position involves close collaboration with multiple security teams and business units to consolidate information and support wider operational functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide project-level C&IA guidance, helping define security requirements and appropriate information security controls.

  • Conduct security audits and risk assessments to ensure adherence to Government Security Classifications, laws, standards, and regulations.

  • Deliver expert advice on IT security, staying current with developments in network, application, and communications security, as well as emerging technologies.

  • Collaborate with Cyber Operations, Physical Security, Personnel Security, and other stakeholders to reduce organisational risk.

  • Offer formal technical security assurance; review architectures and system designs to ensure appropriate protection of information and processing facilities.

  • Support incident management activities with technical guidance.

  • Participate in security and project working groups and relevant governance forums.

Essential Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree or recognised higher education in an IT-related field and/or

  • Security certifications from recognised bodies (e.g., GIAC, etc.)

  • Strong background in information security, risk management, and assurance within secure or government environments.

  • Active SC clearance
