WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

A Junior Cryobank Technician will support the cryobank team by performing a variety of technical, organizational, and logistics tasks in collaboration with and/or under the supervision of senior staff. Ideal candidates are energetic, detail‑oriented, and eager to stay busy in a hands‑on environment. We value experience in cryobank, medical supply distribution, or logistics/warehouse and a strong pride in maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient cryobank.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following is a list of possible responsibilities to be performed:

  • Handling liquid nitrogen for the purpose of maintaining, preparing, and testing cryogenic storage and shipping equipment.
  • Preparing equipment for daily shipments of human reproductive material by emptying and weighing liquid nitrogen vapour shipping containers and preparing outer shipping containers (involves repeated lifting of up to 30lb).
  • Testing and ongoing maintenance of cryogenic shipping containers.
  • Receiving, reviewing, and recharging returned cryogenic shipping equipment.
  • Maintaining cryogenic storage tanks by performing routine level checks, temperature checks, and refilling with liquid nitrogen.
  • Final pack/seal of shipments and ensuring all shipments are in the designated courier pick‑up area by the daily cut‑off time.
  • Logistics activities related to scheduling and tracking equipment for shipping.
  • Logging all cryobank tasks performed where required.
  • Performing regular cryobank supply checks and submitting requests for restock.
  • Routine cryobank cleaning and organization tasks.
  • Supporting ERP implementation (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central) and applying new workflows to daily operations.
  • Other cryobank tasks as requested.
POSSIBLE ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
  • Client/clinic service communications and logistics activities related to client order processing/scheduling/shipping/receiving.
  • Creating shipping documentation including outgoing and return waybills using shipping provider online tools.
  • Additional administrative/client services duties as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) preferred
  • Other bachelor’s degrees also considered
  • Post‑secondary education (college diploma, certificate, or equivalent experience) required

Experience:

  • Experience working in a cryobank and/or logistics is an asset
  • Experience in or knowledge of human reproduction and/or the fertility field is an asset
  • Experience in liquid nitrogen handling is an asset
  • Experience in medical supplies handling, temperature‑controlled product distribution, or shipping/receiving is an asset
  • ERP or warehouse management system experience (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central) is an asset

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
