What You’ll Do
  • Provide design support for various infrastructure and land development projects including municipal engineering, road works, utility, and facility upgrades.
  • Complete field inspections to monitor the quality and progress of the work being performed on various infrastructure projects including municipal engineering, road works, utility and facility upgrades.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender and contract documents and drawings.
  • Prepare and adhere to site‑specific health and safety plans.
  • Provide support to other departments (geomatics, materials testing, and structural engineering) to learn about and develop a holistic approach to project execution.
  • Work with other team members to ensure schedules, budgets, and quality control standards are achieved and maintained.
  • You will be directly supervised by a professional (P.Eng.) registered in BC.
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited post‑secondary institution.
  • Construction monitoring or field experience is an asset, but not required.
  • Registration in good standing as an Engineer‑In‑Training (EIT) in British Columbia, or eligibility to be registered.
  • Proficiency in the application of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • High productivity, attention to detail, effective verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to work well in a team environment.
What Can We Offer You?

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
